Al's surgery

Sorry guys, I thought I had updated you on the impending surgery. It has been postponed indefinatley. He still wants it done, we just don't know when as of right now. See the problem falls with us being in Alaska and the surgery being done in Seattle. The Coast Guard will pay for me to fly out to Seattle to take care of him, but they will not fly someone out to Kodiak to watch my kids, nor will they fly the kids to Seattle. So basically I am at my Mom's mercy as to when it is convenient for her to come out and watch the kids for me. That and well I don't normally have 1200 dollars lying around to blow on a plane ticket and when I flew her out in March and the surgery was cancelled do to Kodiak Dr's misdiagnosing Allan, the USCG won't reimburse that money. So for now..no surgery. I'll keep ya posted.

Just got back from Tennessee

Just returned from Tennessee this past weekend. Obviously I saw Sherry (yea, she's still fine as hell) and her family as I stayed there during my visit. I also made a trip to the Univ of Tenn to see a friend that I went to Grad school with. She is using the same methodology that I am for our dissertations, so we brainstormed for a couple hours. I am trying like a MoFo to get my dissertation written this year and defended next summer, but seeing that my advisor just retired from here and has moved on to Harvard I imagine he will be dragging his feet a lot. We'll see.

Anyway, Star I won't be in Anchorage because that conference was last year. I was planning on going, but having to rebuild my transmission blew all my friggen' money.

I am assuing that Dupes surgery was a success? Talk with you guys later. Alex
