Coming home

Yo my Peeps, I will be in J'ville in early September, so let's plan on getting together ( I guess this message really only pertains to Jeff).

Hey Jeff, I understand what you were getting at with the pictures and getting the pathway fixed, but I can't figure out how to do it. When I go into MY PICTUES and look at the photos, they are all saved as jpegs. The problem seems to occur when I export them. Do you have any ideas on getting this shit fixed? I got some craptastic responses from the Blogger people, they just referred me to some FAQ's, which were useless. Later, Alex

I figured out your picture problem.

Alex,
Make sure that when you post a picture, it has suffix such as .jpg or .gif, etc. The ones that you have posted that will not enlarge do not have a suffix. They are Alex%20 instead of Alex.jpg. The picture of Ashlyn that you posted did have the .jpg suffix.

Prom Time

Tracie's senior prom 1988!!

Here's Heather!

one more try

Another photo , me and Ed right after he got back from Boot Camp in '89.

Then and Now

Not so tough, and sorta tough. Everyone knows I'm a big pussy, no matter how much I bark. For some reason only the thumbs are showing up. Can you guys enlarge the photos when you click on them?

Jammin'

Hanging out in Jeff and Mike's trailer drinking a cold Coors. Nice platinum blonde hair! I believe that is Mike's old Washburn I'm playing.

I'm thinking this was around '88, but my memory is going fast. We were all working at IRD, because it was Trixie (Richards wife) who bleached my hair. For the life of me I can't remember her real name. Maybe Tina or something. I have several more pictures on my computer, but I need to buy a scanner before I send them out. I have been taking digital photos of the photos, and although some of them came out good, the others are just crap.

Latest photo of serial killer, and family update

So I'm in NY trying to finish my PhD. I will have my dissertation written this year, then have it edited and defended next summer. I'm doing a 3D geometric morphometric analysis of facial shape in Middle Pleistocene hominins (don't ask me what that means, I don't know!).

My folks are retired in Hubert, NC. My mom obsesses about keeping the house and yard perfect, and my dad is a JROTC instructor at Lejeune High.

Deanna is married to Aki, a guy she met in grad school at ECU. Deanna earned an M.A. in ESL, and Aki has a PhD in Linguistics. He teaches at Hamilton College in Clinton, NY (which is about 2 hours north of me). They have 2 boys, Masaaki and Yuuta, who are 5 and 2.

Ed is married to Autumn and they have a little boy, Ed Jr. Little Ed is full of piss and vinegar, a little flea just like Ed was was he was young. But never a dull moment. Ed is currently in Iraq and due back in August.

So there you have it, for now.

Meeting in PA don't look good for Jeff!!!

I can't take any time off since this is my busiest time of the year and I have several projects due by August 15th. I have checked on airline tickets and the outcome was not too good because of short notice.
Independent Air = $369
US Air = $342
United = $554
Northwest = $562
Delta = $553

I don't think that I can swing these prices for a weekend trip. Maybe we all can plan a trip together for next spring or summer? Anyway, I hope that you all get together and have a blast, take lots of pictures.

Yo Yo Yo!

I'm still here

Well, no work today, its raining like hell. Which is nice since I road my motorcycle in this morning. We weren't supposed to have rain until this afternoon, and even that was only a 40% chance.

Anyway, I know you would have a long ride to get back to Pa. Jeff, but when might you get another chance to see Star? You could also fly if you don't want too get stuck on the road for 200 hours. From Hazelton to J'ville is about 10 hours, then 4 more from where you are. There is an airport in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, which is about 30 minutes from Hazelton. Anyway, just something to think about.

This photo is of the entrance to the British Museum of Natural History in London. Awesome place and looks really old, but was built in the 60's

Meeting in Pa

Hello people, it looks like me, Star and Mike will have a reunion of sorts in Pennsylvania in a couple weeks (July 22-24). These dates are tentative, but they're something to work with. I know the Hazelton area pretty well if that's where we decide to get together.

Sounds like Star is all for it, Mike expressed the same the night before. What do you say Jeff, are you going to try to make it? Anyway, we have about 11 days to iron out the details. Talk with you later, Alex

PS the photo is of old Roman buildings in downtown Thessaloniki, Greece.

Fuzzhead? Would be great to see him on here.

Alex in Georgia

Just figured I'd put in a photo from last year in the field. I wish I was back in Georgia. I was lifting at the gym prior to this point, now I'm just fat again. Aging just sucks, but I will always give my heart (and belly) to Ben and Jerry! Alex

My Men

Here are the crazy men in my life.
Allan and the boys at the harbor this year during fireworks. We do fireworks at midnight on the 3rd in Kodiak..see how light it still is at midnight? The other picture is my goofy husband attacking me in Chiniak Alaska last summer. Enjoy.

Hostilo Family Update

This is an old picture. I will try to get a new one.

Me: I am still working at the University of South Carolina. I also own an technology consultation business named AVS.

Tracie: Works at the SC State Housing Authority and also owns her own community managment company named Community Managment Associates.

Ashlyn: Is now 13 going on 21. She is an A/B student starting 8th grade next month. She loves shopping, music, movies, art and daddy! This summer she started her own baby sitting service within our community and has made quite a bit of money. Baby sitting these days is very expensive.

Hostilo Family: Eighteen months ago we built a large house in Lexington, SC. We have a year old Yorkshire Terrier/Shitzu puppy nammed Maggie Mae, a three year old cat name Scrumper and a 14 year old parrot named Melon.

hard drive

Yo Jeff, I'll send you my hard drive next week. I really want the photos that are on it more than anything else, but I would like to retrieve some of my dissertation data as well. Many of those photos I don't have saved anywhere else, and giving my current situation with Valorie, I may never see some of them again.

Oh yea, tell Tracie I know I am a dork, as a matter of fact, I wholeheartedly embrace my inner dork. I can't help that I love my homies!!! Alex

Yo Star

Hey Star, just let me know when you will be around. I am tied up during the week, but weekends are much more flexible. How long will you be on the east coast? Its been a long time, we should get togther at least for a day if we can get it worked out. I doubt I will be able to make it to Alaska anytime soon.

Have you guys considered Busch Gardens at all? There's also a new waterpark there, it is quite worth the trip. Kings Dominion has gotten quite ghetto in the last 10 years. Busch Gardens is more family oriented. There's also a Six Flags in northern Virginia now, up where the Redskins play.

I would have called last night but I forgot to write down your number before I left. I'll buzz you tonight. Alex

I'm back

Just got back from Watertown. That job sucked, but its done for now. Hey Star, here's some photo manipulation for you.

My number is 607-797-8477. We should make an effort to get together while you're here.

Busbee is in Jersey, maybe we can work something out where he and I drive down. Thanks for the photos you sent the other day, but why wasn't there a shot of that juicy ass? Alex

Thursday, July 07, 2005

Hey Star

What are you doing in DC? Here's a picture for you!!

Great photo manipulation

Hey Homey, this is what I intended with this thing. How the hell did you get the photos in there? I tried to upload some, but when the uploading was done there was nothing there. Could it be that the size of the file was too big?

Have you invited anyone else? I invited Star, Mike and Busbee, but haven't heard from anyone yet. Star should be in DC today (I tried to call her last night and never heard back), and I know Busbee is in northern NJ doing a plumbing job.

Anyway, I'm out of town until tomorrow night. I'll catch up with you then, Alex

Back in the Day

Rock On

Hey man you got it to work. I wonder if anyone else will take advantage of this? So far this look pretty cool.

First entry

Hello my people. I 've decided to create this blog so that we can share ideas whenever they pop into our heads, or just to have some place to jot down memories from the days when we weren't fat, bald or tied down by life. Of course we can tall about anything in here, even news from yesterday.

I'm sure there is a way to add photos and that kind of thing, but one step at a time. Drop me a line and let's get this thing started. Feel free to send this address out to whomever you want, our family is a lot bigger than the handful of people I sent emails to earlier. Talk with you soon, Alex

The Priest!

Hey. I am testing adding pictures.
